the part 2 of having a lot of shit and forgetting about it

Fuck

i went to the storage room i have far away from my place, where all i have is stored.

this year has been of moving, changes, not having a lot of personal of my own space, i dont feel like i needed it tbh, but i went to that place to gather the most important bits

and when i got there i was like fuck, this is too much

I wonder if my retro computing hobby, while i like it, i find it interesting was mostly a deflection of bigger issues or something, like i have boxes and boxes of laptops, and i rthink they are cool and fun and interesting, but they are there, doing nothing

Out of sight out of mind right?

i went to get most of my telecom stuff and my unix computers, the alpha, the sun, some of the macs and a couple of pcs, yeah, i like these, i want to explore them more.

but also, i feel like i could not

like

it's kinda scary because this was my identity for years, kiwa the tiger that likes old shit, the dude that posted old computers on twitter, then mastodon, then whatever.

i spent most of my day inmersed on that

get some device, try to fix it, if succeed move to the next one.

the eternal loop

Im not sure if i fully shifted interests, i really want to mess with some networking, and the unix computers, and idk some laptops sure

but i'm so busy right now, my life is so active now, the shows, the dj practices, the me doing the visuals for shows, the going out enjoying time, work, spending time with my boyfriend or family, dealing with emotions, life, etc.

I always loved the old computer stuff, yeah, but what if i was using it the lasts years of my "previous life" as a deflection of reality? i spent like days and nights messing with all of it just to not deal with anything else.

idk, i just think that i moved on to new stuff, i feel like the creative outlet of new people surrounding the music and new stuff to do in my life is pretty fullfilling andf fun.

but idk, maybe i need to reduce and actually just have what i want and not like the pile amounts of stuff just because you know.

like how many floppy disk drives someone really need, idk.

something to think more about
